mistakes

My dad is a carpenter — a very wise carpenter. He made a mistake on a project last week, which could have left him quite frustrated. Instead he took it as an opportunity to think outside the box and he ended up with a better result than had the mistake not been made.

As he was telling me the story he was laughing as he said, “Mistakes are just opportunities for creativity Chelsey.”

It made me think about my own “mistakes” and the amazing outcomes that have come from making them.

If we look through the lens of getting to be creative in figuring out the next step — opportunities for creativity — it makes the mistake feel a little bit better.
