You’re the Reason It Matters

A warm light shines through an open arched doorway into a dark, shadowy space, symbolizing hope, healing, and stepping into courage.

Sometimes the world gives out awards — a plaque on the wall, a certificate, a line in the paper that says “Best Mental Health Clinic.” Or “Best Therapist.”

This year, we got both — first place.

It’s an incredible honor. It feels good to be seen that way. And it matters — not because it says something shiny about me, or about Courage Speaks — but because it says something real about you.

That’s what makes the recognition feel true.

You’re the reason any of this means anything at all.

Not the plaque on the wall. But you — the human who decided your pain and your patterns and your quiet longing to feel more alive were worth bringing into the light.

You are the brave thing in the room — not the therapist, not the building, not the walls that hold our stories. You are the courage that speaks. You’re the reason this practice exists.

So if there’s an award, it’s yours too.

It’s for every time you showed up when you wanted to hide. For the days you said the hard thing out loud. For the moments you sat with discomfort instead of running from it. For letting yourself be seen, maybe for the first time.

I want you to know that’s what I feel when I look at those words — “Best Mental Health Clinic. Best Therapist.” They’re not just mine. They’re ours.

Thank you for letting your story be witnessed here. Thank you for letting courage speak.

And thank you — wildly, truly — for being you.
